Hemingway Special
Also known as the Hemingway Daiquiri or the Papa Doble, this classic was created for the famous author who preferred his drinks strong and without sugar. It's a sharp, bracing, and intensely refreshing Daiquiri variation with the added complexity of grapefruit and maraschino liqueur.

- 2 oz Light Rum
- ¾ oz Fresh Lime Juice
- ½ oz Fresh Grapefruit Juice
- ½ oz Maraschino Liqueur
- Garnish: Lime Wheel
Instructions
- Chill the Glass: Place a coupe glass in the freezer for at least 15 minutes.
- Combine Ingredients: Add the rum, lime juice, grapefruit juice, and Maraschino liqueur to a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
- Shake Vigorously: Seal the shaker and shake hard for about 15 seconds until the shaker is very cold.

- Garnish: Garnish with a fresh lime wheel.
Pro Tips for Perfection
No Sugar Added: The defining characteristic of a true Hemingway Daiquiri is the absence of simple syrup. The sweetness comes entirely from the subtle, complex Maraschino liqueur and the fresh grapefruit juice, resulting in a distinctly tart and spirit-forward profile.
Fresh Juices are Essential: With no sugar to hide behind, the quality of your citrus is paramount. You must use freshly squeezed lime and grapefruit juice for this cocktail to be properly balanced and refreshing.
